Do LED Light Therapy Masks Actually Work?

LED light therapy uses specific colour wavelengths of light to penetrate the skin. Each of the colours then penetrates a different levels of the skin to provide a different benefit.

The most common available with the commercial LED Beauty Masks are red blue and purple.  Each colour can help to alleviate different skin concerns, leading to healthier and better looking skin.

Red Light

The red light wavelength is one of the most common wavelengths and is great for ant-ageing and reducing wrinkles.  It helps to stimulate the growth of collagen, which helps to the skin to look more plumper and softer.  Collagen is an essential protein in our bodies which helps to repair tissue damage.  Using the red light can help to reduce fine lines, shrink pores and combat wrinkles helping to achieve younger looking skin.

Blue Light

Blue light is a great way to help with the treatment of acne.  The blue light wavelength penetrates deep into the skin to kill bacteria that causes acne.  It has also calming and soothing anti-inflammatory properties to help treat other skin concerns.

Purple Light

The purple light combines both the red and  blue wavelengths to help promote clear youthful skin.
